Erica Bogarin

Erica Bogarin was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and from a young age, she was surrounded by a sports-loving family. At the age of four, she started playing tennis at the academy of Brazil, where she discovered her love for the game. Erica's older sister, who was ten years older than her, inspired her to become a tennis player. Erica was fascinated by watching her sister play, and this sparked her interest in the sport.

For fifteen years, Erica played tennis, dedicating herself to the sport, but recently decided to switch to pickleball because she found it more enjoyable. Last year, she made the full transition to pickleball, and she is now determined to achieve her goal of beating the number one player in the world, Anna Leigh Waters. Erica works hard every day to get closer to her goal, putting in long hours of training and practicing with her father.

One of the things Erica enjoys most about playing pickleball with Team Phantom is the energy within the group. They are a tight-knit family who support and encourage each other to be the best they can be. Erica shared, “I love the Phantom paddles, specifically the Sniper, because it has a gritty carbon fiber surface and 13mm thick core that compliments my power.”

Today, Erica's sister still plays tennis, while Erica and her dad, Wilson, are tennis and pickleball instructors. Together, they form an unstoppable team, and Erica feels incredibly lucky to spend so much time with her father as she does.

Erica's journey to becoming a pickleball player has been an exciting one. Her passion for the sport is palpable, and her dedication to achieving her goal is admirable. Erica is a true inspiration to anyone who wants to pursue their dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem.
